Supreme and Nike revive an obscure piece of Y2K running history with the Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy ‘University Red’, reworking the experimental silhouette with the New York label’s unmistakable branding. The upper features a bold University Red quilted mesh construction, layered with metallic silver TPU strips that wrap around the sidewalls and heel. The horizontal detailing incorporates oversized Supreme branding, while reflective elements add a technical finish to the early-2000s design. Speed Yellow appears across the midsole, creating a vivid contrast beneath the red upper, while silver-toned visible Air units and a black rubber outsole complete the striking colour scheme.

The Air Max 2001 Air Ecstasy draws from Nike’s experimental Alpha Project era, bringing back the distinctive horizontal TPU construction and substantial visible Air cushioning of the original Y2K runner. Supreme integrates its branding directly into the TPU structure rather than simply adding it as an external detail, while reflective elements reinforce the technical aesthetic.
